OlkipukkiChristmas traditions

Each person celebrating Christmas has numerous Christmas traditions he or she adheres to.  Traditions can develop without anyone really noticing, and they customarily take a long time to renew themselves.  Some are part of community tradition, while some are private and belong to an individual and his or her family.

For centuries, Turku has had direct lines of communication to Central Europe, and has served as a port of entry to many innovative cultural concepts arriving to Finland from the west.  This is also true in terms of Christmas traditions, which are part of western cultural heritage.
