International affairs,  PR and events

The tasks of the Office are city PR, to represent the City of Turku on international cooperation and to coordinate different kinds city events.

International affairs

More specifically the tasks of the International Affairs Office include promoting Turku internationally, EU issues, twin town relationships, urban networks and the realisation and planning of international events. The aim is to serve Turku in a variety of international activities. In addition, the duties include supporting and advising the City of Turku's administrative departments, bureaus and other sections. The different administrative branches of the City of Turku also have their own international affairs liaison officers.

In addition the office performs a variety of other services related to representing Turku, including diplomatic protocol tasks, and organising representation facilities and food-serving tasks.

Events Services Office

The Event Services Office helps arrange and produce major events held in Turku as well as different types of annual events. Event Services also advises the organisers of events in the city on permit issues, cooperation and other operating principles and policies.
