Welcome to Turku, the Christmas City of Finland!

The Grand Opening of the Christmas City will be celebrated 28 November 2009 at 5 pm at the Cathedral Square. The ceremony is a starting shot for hundreds of Christmas events including art exhibitions, concerts, theatre performances and happy events for children.

In Turku, Christmas is traditionally celebrated until St. Knut’s Day 13 January 2010. The Christmas City offers various events for everyone during six weeks.

It’s still a long time until Christmas, but we are already planning new events for next Christmas. Advance information about this year’s Christmas programme will be published in June. We wish everyone a joyous spring!
